I cannot speak to when Rolex stopped including them in with purchase but I believe there was a time when both the Submariner and the Sea Dweller included the anchor. I bought a Glashutte Original Sport Evo, the new Rolex GMTII C and a Rolex Submariner LV. When the watch department manager brought out the Sub LV I knew it would not have an anchor with it because the word had gone around maybe a year before that Rolex had stopped supplying them.
I do have the shorter Submariner and a Sea Dweller anchor like the ones pictured above again but with a chain and bar, my Submariner anchor 3 is rounded, I do not know which anchors are real or fake nor it seems do the more experience watch experts.
