Nyon was selected by Jean-Claude Biver for its location, conveniently accessible from Geneva, the Vallee de Joux and Evian in France. The town is better known as the headquarters of UEFA; Hublot is the only watch manufacturer located there. I visited the Hublot manufacture in Nyon in February at the invitation of Hublot’s irrepressible CEO Jean-Claude Biver. He invited me to the Nyon factory, about 40 minutes from Geneva, via Facebook, after having seen some of my work.After an extraordinary career spanning over 40 years in watchmaking, Jean-Claude Biver, together with LVMH, has decided to relinquish his operational responsibilities and assume the role of Honorary Chairman of HUBLOT.To a long, loud peal from three alpine horns, Jean-Claude Biver marches vigorously towards an assembled throng of journalists, photographers, industry dignitaries and friends of Hublot.
